Customer Reviews: Exact replacement for my broken one... April 18, 2010 Brad Brown (Baltimore, MD USA) I recently had to replace the power cord to my Magellan 3250. My car was involved in a front end collision and the force of the crash caused the power cord fitting (the end) to bend right at the black plastic grip, thus ruining the unit.
I waited for a while and then decided to by this and it is the exact same product and I could not be happier with it.
Just what I needed August 10, 2010 Steve My Magellan power adapter went bad on the original that came in the box. The magellan site has it, but I believe from what I remember was a bit more expensive.
This one works OK but I had to replace the original November 11, 2009 K. Brown (Jacksonville, FL USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
The original cable that came with my Magellan Maestro 4250 had a short in it. Every time I backed out of my driveway or hit a bump the GPS would power on as if I had just plugged it in. I used a regular USB charger for a while and it didn't happen any more but I needed one of these cables to also handle the FM antenna for traffic alerts. I've had the new cable for a week or so and have not had any more problems so I'm hoping my first one was just defective and not an indication of poor quality in all of these cables.
Its alive it works again March 12, 2010 Randall Lucas (Chicago, IL USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
works just fine. But It's going to have the same problem as my last one. and that is the cord will sepparate from the base after awhile. Design flaw or way to keep ya buying more?
The cord at the base of the lighter adapter needs to be reinforced.
Design flaw at the tip of plug August 10, 2010 HTV (Phoenix, AZ) I purchased the 4250 gps model from Costco. The car A/C plug came undone at the tip as i pull it out. Returned and got a replacement, same issue with the plug. The tip has a plastic round cap screw on that can easily come undone. So with a short time of usage, as you pull out, plug in into your car's A/C, the head piece gets loose and fall apart. Now, i find myself buying a replacement plug, of the same model, and expect the same fate. Please make the fix, Magellan.
