 Does What it Should August 30, 2008

This review can't get too technical, being just a cable. It was long enough to go where ever I wanted it to, (in my case, the center console, and it's run underneath out of the way). Solid connection and sound quality. Cables will always be expensive, but there's nothing we can do about that. I paid $18 which I thought was a lot, but retail something like crutchfield.com was $25 so I can't complain.

Alpine KCE-422i iPod Connection Cable well not much you can say about wire, but it is the right one and my ipod does charge while using it in the car(i've seen where others have a problem with this). your ipod becomes the storage medium only and the reciever does everything else (which is fine)in short, it works great.

I just recently got my 1st iPod, a 4th gen Nano. Of course, everything works great except for the charging function. I bought a Scosche Passport adapter, and now everything works 100%. I did receive the genuine Alpine cable.

Works as designed. Excellent length, about 6.5 feet or so. A must have if you have and iPod and the 9887 CD receiver.

This connector is a must if you would like to connect your ipod to the respective Alpine deck. The installation is a breeze...cable connects to the back of your Alpine deck and the other to your ipod. It cannot get any easier than that unless of course if blue-tooth is one day introduced as a connection option. Sound quality is great, but keep in mind sound quality is dependent upon the format and quality in which your music is stored within your ipod, as well as the features and performance of your head-unit. It pays to be fully informed as to whether a cable is supplied with your head-unit, which is usually not the case with Alpine products.
